CENTRAL AVE BUNGALOW
LEXINGTON, KY
Located in the historic heart of downtown Lexington, this early 20th-century bungalow was given a full restoration and renovation that celebrates its Craftsman character while introducing a warm, timeless aesthetic suited for modern living. Once painted a pale blue-green and showing years of wear, the home has been thoughtfully reimagined with a refined palette, natural materials, and careful detailing.
The renovation focused on preserving the bungalow’s defining architectural elements—its deep eaves, exposed rafter tails, and welcoming front porch—while enhancing its structure and functionality. New exterior finishes, brickwork, and a custom-designed wood fence and gate bring depth and authenticity to the home’s street presence, honoring its historic proportions with a fresh, grounded appeal.
Inside, the design blends craftsmanship with comfort. A walnut-paneled kitchen with marble countertops and a handcrafted copper hood creates a warm, textural core to the home. The renovation also improved natural light and flow throughout, linking historic charm with the durability and sensibility of modern design.
This project reflects the enduring spirit of Lexington’s bungalow neighborhoods—rooted in history, restored with care, and designed to last another century.
