Vince Thompson, AIA, NCARB is a registered architect in the state of Kentucky, Texas, Ohio and Tennessee. He is a founding partner of Gibson Taylor Thompson. He received his Masters of Architecture from The University of Kentucky and his bachelors of arts in architecture from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. During his academic career Vince spent time studying abroad throughout Spain and Europe. During his studies in Europe, he had extended stays in Barcelona and cities throughout Europe with the opportunity to travel throughout various countries gaining a greater understanding of classical and modern trends. In school, Vince was the treasurer for the Tau Sigma Delta honor society. He also was the teaching assistant for the Digital Media class at the University of Kentucky teaching CAD & BIM programs to undergraduate students. Vince currently serves on the Board of Directors for the AIA East Kentucky Chapter.

Vince has a wealth of experience in complex custom residential projects. Vince started his career in construction facilitating projects for high-end residential buildings/custom home designs and large-scale renovations in the Annapolis-Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland. He also has a multitude of experience on commercial projects and has previously served as the project manager/designer for the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville, several buildings at the Makers Mark Distillery in Loretto, KY. among many others.

 

Since teaming up with Baron & Darren, they have completed a variety of projects together  ranging from Urban Housing Development competitions to commercial assembly venues. Vince handles the production team and oversees day to day operations. Vince continues to develop all of Gibson Taylor Thompson's production standards and monitoring projects to ensure that quality is met for all design and contract documents. 

 

In addition to his extensive residential and commercial experience he has a deep appreciation for understanding of the benefit of a coordinated team approach on every aspect of the project.
